Job summary

Sureserve Group is recruiting for a Gas Engineer to service and maintain heating and hot water systems across the Harrogate region. The role focuses on safe, efficient operation and high workmanship standards, with on-site visits to domestic properties and strong customer service expectations.

You will diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance, and communicate clearly with clients and tenants. A full driving licence and valid gas qualifications are required, with on-call duties included.

Qualifications

• Valid domestic and/or commercial gas qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 essential).
• Valid UK driving licence (essential).
• Previous practical gas maintenance experience in domestic settings.
• Solid understanding of gas safety regulations and industry standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out service and maintenance on domestic gas heating and hot water systems across the region.
• Ensure high levels of customer care when dealing with clients and tenants to meet quality standards.

About the role

Responsible for ensuring heating and hot water systems are operating safely, efficiently and reliably, helping customers stay comfortable in their homes. You'll diagnose faults, complete repairs, carry out planned maintenance, and provide a high standard of workmanship while delivering excellent customer service at every visit.

• Carry out service and maintenance works on a variety of domestic properties across the region
• Ensuring high levels of customer care in dealing with clients and tenants to meet the required quality standards
• Communicate updates and progress of work, completing the required paperwork electronically and manually

What we're looking for

• Valid domestic and/or commercial gas qualifications. As a minimum, successful candidates must have the following: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 (essential)
• Valid UK driving licence (essential)
• Previous practical experience in gas maintenance within a domestic capacity
• Solid understanding of gas safety regulations and industry standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• A professional and friendly attitude with the ability to forge strong relationships with both clients and tenants
