Job description
Overview

We’re looking for a hardworking, driven, and passionate candidate to join our team as we grow in 2025, helping our owners maintain high quality properties and ensuring guests receive the best customer service during their stay.

As an integral member of the maintenance team you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of gas appliances within our holiday homes. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing gas boilers; performing routine safety inspections; and issuing gas safety inspections. You will learn other compliance requirements as per our policy and ensure their completion when attending properties. The role encompasses both team-based collaboration and independent work. You will often interact with customers on call, so strong communication and a personable approach are essential.

We prefer candidates with prior experience, but we are also open to recently qualified engineers. Experience in domestic plumbing is welcomed to support a varied workload. You will be allocated a company van and fuel card for transportation, and you will receive a tablet device that integrates with our systems for scheduling and fault reporting.

To be considered for this role you MUST have:

  • Good team spirit and the ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work alone on a variety of boiler types and systems
  • Proactive approach to health and safety, creating a safe environment
  • General maintenance skills, including basic electrical and joinery
  • IT literacy and ability to use applications and upload documents
  • Can-do attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • Experience carrying out landlord inspections (CP12) and servicing boilers
  • Experience servicing and repairing boilers
  • Full driving license (with reasonable adjustments discussed if needed)
  • Gas Safe registration ACS, with a domestic qualification (minimum CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1)
  • CKR1 (Gas Cookers and Ranges) qualification
  • UDHW (Unvented Hot Water) qualification is desirable
  • Experience with domestic plumbing
Responsibilities
  • Conduct annual gas safety inspections and servicing of gas appliances in line with Gas Safe regulations
  • Identify and rectify faults or issues with gas appliances, including boilers, cookers, and heaters
  • Perform gas safety checks and issue Gas Safety Certificates (CP12) for holiday homes
  • Respond promptly to gas-related emergencies and breakdowns, ensuring swift resolution with minimal guest disruption
  • Maintain accurate records of gas appliance inspections, repairs, and servicing
  • Keep up to date with industry regulations and best practices related to gas safety
  • Complete compliance requirements per company policy (training provided)
  • Liaise daily with the Maintenance & Compliance Manager to report on job completion and status
