Job summary

Career Makers Inc. is seeking an experienced Gas Engineer to cover social housing contracts in the St Helens and Manchester areas. This role is a 6-month contract with a strong chance of permanency for the right candidate, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.

You will disconnect and reconnect boilers during kitchen works, perform general gas duties, and ensure safety and quality while coordinating with kitchen teams. A Gas Safe registration and full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced Gas Engineer.
• Current Gas Safe registration.
• Social housing experience preferred.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Reliable and professional in occupied properties.

Gas Engineer - Social Housing

Location: St Helens & Manchester areas

Pay: £21.00 per hour

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

Start Date: 30 November 2026

Contract: 6 months, with the opportunity to go permanent

We are currently looking for an experienced Gas Engineer to join a long-term social housing contract covering the St Helens and Manchester areas.

Duties will include:

• Disconnecting and reconnecting boilers as required during kitchen works
• General gas engineering duties within social housing properties
• Carrying out work safely and to the required standards
• Working alongside kitchen fitting and refurbishment teams
• Ensuring work is completed professionally with minimal disruption to residents

Package:

• £21.00 per hour
• Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 5:00pm
• Fuel card provided
• Mileage paid if using your own vehicle
• 6 months of consistent work
• Opportunity to be taken on permanently for the right candidate

Requirements:

• Qualified and experienced Gas Engineer
• Current Gas Safe registration/relevant gas qualifications
• Experience working within social housing is preferred
• Full UK driving licence
• Reliable, professional and comfortable working in occupied properties
