Job summary

Niyaa People is seeking an experienced Gas Engineer to carry out domestic gas works across social housing properties in Wolverhampton and Staffordshire. The role offers ongoing, consistent work with Mon-Fri hours 8:00am–4:30pm and mileage payments, with jobs allocated close to home.

Ideal candidates will have strong domestic gas experience, ACS qualifications, and a Blue/Gold card or JIB equivalent. A van is preferred to support field duties and travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Extensive domestic gas installation experience in social housing.
• ACS qualifications for gas cookers and fires preferred.
• Own van and valid driving license may be required.
• Blue or Gold skills card or JIB equivalent.
• Experience with servicing and relocating boilers.

Responsibilities

• Moving, capping and uncapping gas supplies.
• Moving radiators as part of bathroom, wetroom and kitchen works.
• Servicing and relocating boilers where required.

Job description

Take on an ongoing contract role with consistent Monday to Friday work and mileage payments as a Gas Engineer, carrying out domestic gas works across social housing properties in Wolverhampton and Staffordshire.

You’ll be working across bathroom, wetroom and kitchen programmes, with jobs allocated as close to home as possible. This is an ongoing opportunity offering a steady workload and working hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

As a Gas Engineer, you will be:

• Moving, capping and uncapping gas supplies

• Full domestic ACS qualifications cookers and fires are preferred but not essential
• A valid Blue or Gold skills card, or relevant JIB equivalent
• Their own van
• Strong domestic gas experience rather than plumbing-only experience
• Previous social housing experience preferred, although other suitable domestic backgrounds will be considered

The Gas Engineer role is offering:

• Around £250 per day
• 40p per mile after the first 20 miles
• Ongoing, consistent work
• Monday to Friday, 8:00am 4:30pm
• Work allocated as close to home as possible

Location & travel

This Gas Engineer position covers Wolverhampton and the surrounding Staffordshire area. Jobs will be allocated with the aim of keeping travel as local to home as possible. Interviews are held on Thursdays in Wolverhampton, with Teams interviews available for candidates based further afield. Successful candidates will need to complete the required subcontractor and compliance documentation before starting, with support available for outstanding training requirements.
