Job summary

Niyaa People are recruiting for a Gas Engineer to cover Wolverhampton and Staffordshire on an ongoing contract basis. You will perform domestic gas works across social housing properties, with jobs allocated to keep travel local.

Working hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with mileage paid at 40p per mile after the first 20 miles. A valid ACS qualification and Blue/Gold skills card (or JIB equivalent) are essential, and you must have your own van.

Qualifications

• Full domestic ACS qualifications – cookers and fires preferred but not essential.
• Blue or Gold CS card or JIB equivalent.
• Own van is required.
• Strong domestic gas experience in social housing or similar domestic environments.
• Previous social housing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move, cap and uncap gas supplies.
• Move radiators as part of bathroom, wetroom and kitchen works.
• Servicing and relocating boilers where required.
• Completing a range of domestic gas works within social housing properties.

Job description

Take on an ongoing contract role with consistent Monday to Friday work and mileage payments as a Gas Engineer, carrying out domestic gas works across social housing properties in Wolverhampton and Staffordshire.

You’ll be working across bathroom, wetroom and kitchen programmes, with jobs allocated as close to home as possible. This is an ongoing opportunity offering a steady workload and working hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

I’d love to see CVs from anyone who has worked as a Gas Engineer, Heating Engineer or Domestic Gas Installer within social housing or similar domestic environments.

As a Gas Engineer, you will be:

• Moving, capping and uncapping gas supplies
• Moving radiators as part of bathroom, wetroom and kitchen works
• Servicing and relocating boilers where required
• Completing a range of domestic gas works within social housing properties
• Working safely within occupied and void properties

I’d love to speak to anyone who has:

• Full domestic ACS qualifications – cookers and fires are preferred but not essential
• A valid Blue or Gold skills card, or relevant JIB equivalent
• Their own van
• Strong domestic gas experience rather than plumbing-only experience
• Previous social housing experience preferred, although other suitable domestic backgrounds will be considered

The Gas Engineer role is offering:

Location & travel

This Gas Engineer position covers Wolverhampton and the surrounding Staffordshire area. Jobs will be allocated with the aim of keeping travel as local to home as possible.

Interviews are held on Thursdays in Wolverhampton, with Teams interviews available for candidates based further afield. Successful candidates will need to complete the required subcontractor and compliance documentation before starting, with support available for outstanding training requirements.
