Job description

Typical Duties:

1. Installation: Installing new gas appliances like boilers, cookers, and fires.
2. Maintenance: Servicing, repairing, and maintaining existing gas systems.
3. Fault Finding: Diagnosing and repairing faults in gas appliances and heating systems.
4. Safety Checks: Conducting safety inspections and issuing gas safety certificates.
5. Customer Service: Providing advice to customers on gas safety and energy efficiency, and potentially offering additional cover options.
6. Emergency Response: Responding to emergency calls related to gas leaks and breakdowns.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Gas Safe Registered Engineer: Holding a valid Gas Safe license is mandatory for all gas engineers in the UK, according to Gas Safe Registry.
• Accredited Training: Completion of accredited training courses and qualifications in gas engineering.
• Practical Experience: Demonstrated experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing gas appliances.
• Relevant Qualifications: Qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Gas Engineering or equivalent may be required.
• Knowledge of Regulations: A thorough understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and safety procedures.
• Customer Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining work procedures and providing advice.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues related to gas systems.
• Health and Safety Awareness: A strong understanding of health and safety procedures and risk assessments related to gas work.

Salary: £2,000 – £3,000 monthly
