Job description

Annual salary: up to £43,007.00

Gas Engineer

Belfast

Up to £43,007 per annum

Full time – Permanent, 42.5hrs per week, Monday to Friday

Including company vehicle and fuel card

About the Role:

Due to contract expansion, we are hiring a Gas Engineer to join our team in Belfast. The main duties of the role include carrying out a range of gas work to our clients' housing stock to ensure that gas appliances and installations are safe for continued use. To safeguard the service users, members of the public, client’s personnel, and Mears employees from any potential danger associated with gas. The gas engineer has a lot of responsibilities when undertaking gas work, repairs, service, and installation, as accuracy and commitment to doing the work correctly is very important. The successful candidate will also be expected to carry out repairs on oil heating systems.

Role Criteria:

  • Qualified to City and Guilds/Gas Service Engineer standard and hold appropriate ACS certification
  • Good knowledge of electrical safe working
  • Experience with boiler repairs and installation would be preferable
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
  • Able to work alone as well as part of a team
  • Customer focused
  • Full UK driving license
  • Be part of the on-call rota which is 1 in 6 weeks

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK; Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

As part of the recruitment process for this role, we will carry out a DBS & BPSS check, as well as Security Clearance. For these checks to be completed, we will require from you the relevant identification, including Proof of Address, References, a valid passport, and proof that you have lived in the UK for the last 5 years.
