Job summary

Network Plus in Worsley is seeking a Gas Designer to lead detailed drawings from site surveys through to final design documentation. You will work closely with experienced engineers and project teams across UK sites, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

The role covers end‑to‑end design phases, CDM 2015 adherence, and regular client liaison, with a competitive salary and full benefits. Experience with gas mains and IGEM standards is valued.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualifications desirable; experience, however, will be considered.
• Experience with intermediate‑pressure and high‑pressure gas mains.
• Knowledge of IGEM standards and CDM 2015 awareness.

Responsibilities

• Monitor leading industry practices, recommend new design approaches and identify trends.
• Develop high‑quality concepts, work with the team on iterations and design, seek feedback from stakeholders.
• Work on all design phases of projects, including project set‑up, programming, design and CDM documentation.
• Request and review STAT plans.
• Provide technical design support to other members of the design team.
• Collaborate with internal and client design teams and external consultants.
• Respond to and resolve issues with clients and subcontractors.
• Produce weekly design reports for Design Manager.
• Complete site visits and surveys for detailed designs & as‑laid drawings.
• Represent the company and arrange pre‑design and walk‑off meetings with the client.
• Ensure CDM 2015 compliance throughout the design process.
• Create and maintain H&S files throughout project stages.
• Produce high‑quality detailed drawings, plans and general arrangements.
• Work with Framework Manager, Project Manager and Design Manager to meet budget and time constraints.
• Assist with design queries during construction from the on‑site team.
• Take designs through the client’s G17 governance process.
• Travel across the UK to sites for tender events and design reviews.
