Job summary

Whistles in London is seeking an Established Garment Technologist to lead quality and technical excellence of our woven products, including trousers, jackets and dresses. You will implement efficient processes and ensure our product and supply chain meet ethical standards.

You will head weekly fit sessions, manage supplier onboarding and compliance, collaborate on fabric development, coach the Assistant Garment Technologist, and conduct store visits to stay ahead of market trends.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of woven garment construction
• Experience with pattern cutting, grading and testing
• Ability to communicate effectively with Design, Buying and Suppliers
• Leadership and mentoring of junior team members

Responsibilities

• Technical expertise: leading weekly fit sessions and deep knowledge of garment construction, materials and manufacturing processes
• Supplier compliance and management: onboarding and ethical management practices
• Fabric development: collaboration on fabric development, evaluation and testing
• Leadership: coaching and developing the Assistant Garment Technologist
• Commercial awareness: conduct store visits and competitor research to stay ahead of market trends
• Distribution centre training: advise on AQL inspection and repair guidelines for woven products
