About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Multiproduct Garment Technologist, working with our Outerwear, Denim and Tailoring teams across our own buy brands; Lipsy and Love & Roses. You will own the technical development across multiple categories within our range, working closely with our Buying and Design teams to proactively manage quality assurance and identify any manufacturing or performance risks and escalate these. You will apply knowledge and understanding of product construction, fabric capabilities, finishes and performance, print and embellishment techniques, fabric testing and test report evaluation to achieve a great product.

Responsibilities:

  • Driving fit sessions to ensure accuracy of information and product compliance with Lipsy group standards. Following sealing procedures and facilitating the process
  • Carrying out risk assessments to ensure product compliance and safety
  • Completing fabric tests and advising solutions on failing fabrics and yarns
  • Making suggestions for improvements on policies and processes and on product/ component reports
  • Effectively managing the product approval process and clearly communicating non-compliance to the necessary teams and suppliers
  • Working closely with Buying and Design to progress effective product development and to proactively manage quality assurance
  • Initiating product comparisons and benchmarking against competition and in line with industry innovation
  • Ensuring suppliers understand Lipsy Technical standards and procedures, including The Lipsy Group Code of Conduct and CSR
  • Working towards key dates and guidelines driven by the critical dates to the business
  • Taking responsibility to solve any quality issues in the most cost effective and profit conscious way whilst maintaining customer focus. Ensuring product is fit for purpose and meets all Legal and Health & Safety standards

What we’re looking for:

  • Experienced Garment Technologist, with sufficient experience in a similar role
  • Able to work in a busy fast paced environment, adaptable and not afraid of change
  • Experienced working in Womenswear clothing across denim, outerwear and tailoring
  • Proficient with the use of excel and comfortable with the use of other internal systems
  • Demonstrable experience of fabric testing and test report evaluation across multi product
  • Experience in dealing with a broad supply base including overseas suppliers
  • Proficient at building effective relationships, communicating and engaging with colleagues and suppliers at all levels
  • Someone who will take a proactive approach to all aspects of your work, with an emphasis on continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and improve the business
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently
