Job summary

House Of Fashion Associates is hiring a Garment Technologist for a full-time head office role in Manchester. You will own fit, construction, and technical standards across a multi-brand apparel portfolio, collaborating with Design, Product Development and overseas suppliers through development to production.

Ideal candidates have 4-5 years’ experience in a technical garment role, with strong knowledge of construction, fit, grading, specs, testing and product safety, across menswear, streetwear

Qualifications

• 4-5 years’ experience as a Garment Technologist or in a similar apparel technical role.
• Experience ideally within menswear, streetwear or sportswear.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, specifications, testing and product safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a critical path to ensure development processes meet ex-factory dates.
• Control all sample stages and ensure timely completion per critical path.
• Conduct in-house fit sessions; make confident commercial decisions with Design on construction solutions.
• Measure and send comments across all brand samples on all categories.
• Analyse technical issues; send clear, concise comments to suppliers.
• Send complete workbooks with accurate specs, grading rules, testing and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, product safety and legislations.
• Analyse product performance; check fabric testing and quality control with Product Development.
• Be a key contact during development; record and report actionable results.
• Confidently manage and support Design Handovers.
• Work with Product Developers in China office.
• Liaise with Design to offer technical guidance on new product development.
• Support Design/Development teams to achieve high standards and resolve issues.
