Our Client is a leading manufacturer of sports and entertainment merchandise, including apparel, accessories, toys, collectibles, and novelty items. They hold major sports and entertainment licenses and have a strong infrastructure, dedicated team, and diverse product range, reaching new heights daily.
Their success relies on innovative designs, ideas, and manufacturing techniques.
We are seeking a Menswear Garment Technologist to join their expanding apparel department and ensure team objectives are met at all levels.
Role Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with suppliers, designers, and the client's technical team to develop products.
- Manage all stages of product development from proto sample to production.
- Handle approval processes for lab dips, trims, fabrics, strike-offs, and measurements.
- Create specifications for initial samples, standardized blocks, and graded specs.
- Maintain style workbooks with technical drawings and provide comments during the PLM process.
- Update the production critical path regularly.
- Check garment construction and quality, advising on quality assurance options.
- Work with compliance and QC teams to meet production standards.
- Interpret test reports and provide wash care instructions.
- Request AQL reports from suppliers and manage production sealing.
- Travel overseas and within the UK as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
- Demonstrate the client's core values.
- Relevant recent experience as a Menswear Garment Technologist.
- Knowledge of garment construction, fit, quality assurance, wash/care instructions, and pattern understanding.
- Experience with testing parameters and processes.
- Understanding of critical path management.
- Willingness to travel to China and other countries based on supplier locations.
- Organized, efficient, able to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and relationship-building ability.
- Must have own transport and driving license due to location constraints.
Working hours: 9am - 5.30pm Monday – Thursday / 9am – 5pm Friday.
