Qualifications

  • Bonne compréhension de la construction des vêtements et des tissus.
  • Capacité à mesurer et évaluer des échantillons de vêtements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduire des sessions d'essai en interne et offrir des conseils techniques.
  • Collaborer avec les designers internes et la salle des échantillons à l'étranger.
  • S'assurer que les prototypes répondent aux spécifications et aux normes de la marque.

Job description

Garment Tech - Part time 9-12 months FTC

A fantastic opportunity has become available at a leading supplier for ladies outerwear and leisure for a garment tech to join their team 2 days a week for 9-12 month FTC in their London office. Your role will be to support the design team in the creation of accurate 1st proto's, translating CADs into garments by advising on best construction and fabrications, ensuring all garments are viable for production from a cost and quality perspective.
Main Responsibilities:

  • Conducting in-house fit sessions, proactively offering technical advice to the design team in line with the customer's standards & Golden rules
  • Liaise with the in-house designers and offshore sample room in China
  • Using knowledge of patterns, fit, garment construction and manufacturing techniques to advise the design team when developing styles
  • To ensure that protos are to the specifications requested and that the make is in line with the brand's standards
  • General up-keep of block libraries and sourcing samples
  • To regularly monitor sign off dates to ensure deadlines are met
  • Measuring all bought samples for development and block library purposes

Person specification:

  • Experience in a garment technology role, ideally within womenswear
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and fitting techniques
  • Experience working with designers and factories
  • Proficiency in measuring and assessing garment samples
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
