Job summary

Crew Clothing is seeking a Garment Tech Assistant in Kingston-on-Thames, hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day from home). The role supports the Technical team to ensure product range delivery to schedule, with focus on fit, construction and brand standards.

The position entails admin tasks, supplier coordination and data gathering to aid decision-making. Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years in a similar role, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Excel/Outlook/Word, enabling effective

Responsibilities

• Assist the technical team in the fit process from concept to production.
• Assist in ensuring on-time delivery across all departments, targeting high percentages.
• Assist in admin tasks for the technical team including supplier liaison, filing, sample measuring and fit sessions prep.
• Participate in team and department meetings and share findings as needed.
• Act as an ambassador for Crew Technical Team.

Job description

Garment Tech Assistant

Kingston-on-Thames (4 days in office, 1 day from home)

37.5 hours per week

Purpose of the role

Supports the Technical team in the smooth and commercial delivery of the Crew product range to drive profitable sales growth. This role supports the management of the technical process to ensure that the collections, are developed and created to the standards of Crew clothing in terms of fit, performance and construction to business timeline, with the brand essence of the Crew Clothing, and in line with department and business expectations.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the technical team in the fit process from concept to production.
• Assisting the technical team in managing the on time delivery of all departments and ensuring at least 98 % on time delivery.
• Assisting in the general admin of the technical team in terms of supplier liaison, filing, sample measuring, sample storage and fit sessions prep.

Business Goals

• Supports the technical team in the smooth and commercial delivery of the Crew product range to drive profitable sales growth.
• Supports supplier relationships by communicating team expectations regularly
• Supports communication with key stakeholders for any product or process improvements, within the timeline and signed off by the Head of Technical
• Support the technical team in pack set up each season
• Collate and send samples to DC as directed and when required
• Support Technical team on daily ad hoc dutiesHelps to organise supplier and team meetings.

Technical

• Assist with QC inspections as directed and when required
• Maintain filing system and general administration
• Participate in team and department meetings.
• Carry out competitor shopping reports and presenting findings when requested by the Technical Manager
• Acts as an ambassador for Crew Technical Team

Supplier Development

• Helps communicate fit / assessment comments to the suppliers
• Working closely with suppliers to ensure test reports and other key document are submitted and reviewed in line with critical path dates
• Ensures the suppliers understand Crew Technical Standards and Procedures

Key Skills and Experience

Essential

• Minimum 1 to 1/2 years experience in same or similar role.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Excellent computer literacy in Excel /Outlook/Word
• Ability to prioritise and manage a work schedule whilst working to tight deadlines
• Ability to initiate and build strong relationships with supplier and other department members
• Ability to work as part of a team, but motivated and able to work independently.
• Understanding of the product function and critical path processes.
• Able to work with pace and energy.
• Ability to communicate clearly any quality related issues to the Product Development team, Head of Product and Head of Merchandising.
