Newnham College is seeking an experienced gardener to join the College Gardening team on a full-time basis to cover maternity leave. The position is scheduled to start August/September 2026 and runs until the incumbent returns.

You will work on tending, preserving and developing the College’s 18 acres of landscaped gardens, playing fields and outdoor spaces in a historic setting. The role offers a contributory pension, 33 days holiday (pro rata for part year), a birthday day off, a free meal,

Qualifications

• Some professional gardening or landscaping experience.
• A recognised qualification in horticulture or equivalent.
• Willing to work outdoors in all weathers and operate garden tools and machinery.

Responsabilités

• Tend, preserve and develop 18 acres of gardens, playing fields and outdoor spaces.

• Be flexible for occasional weekend or evening work.
