Job summary

Trinity College Cambridge is seeking a dedicated Gardener to maintain the College Gardens to the highest standards. You will work under the supervision of senior garden staff, performing daily tasks and applying horticultural products safely.

The role requires practical garden maintenance experience, knowledge of plants, and the ability to operate a range of machinery. A century of tradition meets modern safety and environmental practices.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and practical garden maintenance experience.
• Familiarity with plant varieties and habitats.
• Experience in a horticultural environment (trainee ok).
• Awareness of health and safety in horticulture.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Trinity College Gardens to high standards.
• Perform daily tasks as directed by supervisors, individually or as part of a team.
• Prepare and apply horticultural products safely.
• Operate and gain qualifications for machinery and tools.
• Carry out mowing, pruning, planting, and strimming.
• Record HAVS and chemical usage weekly and report issues.
• Participate in winter snow clearing and out-of-hours emergencies.
