Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Gardener for a care home to create a welcoming outdoor space for residents. You’ll maintain lawns, borders and pathways, handle fencing and equipment, and clear snow or ice in winter, keeping grounds safe and inviting.

You’ll work with COSHH-compliant products, follow health and safety rules, and collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality, person-centred care in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• General gardening experience.
• Good understanding of health and safety.
• Ability to use garden treatment chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds to high standards across lawns, borders and pathways.
• Look after equipment and fencing and keep outdoor areas tidy and safe.
• Assist with winter tasks like snow/ice clearance and seasonal planting.
