Job summary

Barchester is seeking a motivated Gardener to maintain our care home grounds to a high standard, creating a welcoming outdoor space for residents.

You’ll look after equipment and fencing, keep areas safe and tidy (including winter snow and ice), and plant a variety of flowers, shrubs and trees.

A patient, empathetic approach, COSHH knowledge and the ability to work as part of a team are essential, with our annual ‘Barchester in Bloom’ competition as a showcase for your talents.

Qualifications

• General gardening experience.
• Good understanding of health and safety.
• Ability to use garden treatment chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.

Responsibilities

• Look after equipment and structures like fencing.
• Keep grounds safe and tidy, including clearing snow and ice in winter.
• Plant a range of flowers, shrubs and trees.
• Contribute to the annual 'Barchester in Bloom' competition.
