Gardener (3.5t Driver)

Salary – £13.85 per hour
Hours – 40 hours per week, 7.30am to 3.30pm
Location – Waltham Forest, E10 7AS

As a Gardener (3.5t Driver) at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the general maintenance of the grounds and parks. You will carry out a variety of horticultural tasks and operate light machinery to maintain high standards across our sites.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working over 5 days a week.

What will you be doing?

- Soil cultivation, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, bed preparation, and planting
- Lawn maintenance and cultivation
- Use and maintenance of hand tools and light machinery (mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers)
- Checking oil levels and performing equipment safety checks
- Gritting, salt spreading, and snow clearing as required
- Marking and preparing sports pitches and field event areas
- Leaf clearance during November to March across parks, cemeteries, and roads
- Maintaining cleanliness of tool sheds and mess rooms
- Assisting in the erection and dismantling of sports equipment

- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- A team player with good communication skills
- Ability to work safely and follow procedures
- Full UK driving licence
- PA1 and PA6 spraying licences (desirable)
