Job summary

The Barnsdale in Rutland is seeking a knowledgeable Gardener with energy to join our Gardens and Maintenance team. You will care for hotel grounds and help maintain outdoor spaces to a high standard.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years gardening experience, enjoys plants, and can lead a small team. We offer training, career progression, and flexible scheduling, with holiday entitlement and staff perks.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years gardening experience across hotels, or private residences.
• Passion for plants, horticulture, and understanding plant care, pruning, and maintenance.
• Broad understanding of garden machinery with some operating proficiency.
• Be a team player, willing to learn and get involved with a wide range of tasks.
• Motivated with a positive 'can do' attitude.

We are looking for a highly knowledgeable Gardener with bags of energy, a passion for the outdoors and the desire to be the best, to join our Gardens and Maintenance team at The Barnsdale, Rutland.

You will:

• Have a professional and outgoing approach to all our hotel's exteriors, whilst attending internal team meetings as and when required.
• Be comfortable leading a small team and delegating - this may include Assistant Gardeners, or Maintenance Assistants.
• Have a passion for plants, horticulture and understand plant care, pruning and maintenance.
• Have a broad understanding of garden machinery, with some proficiency in operating.
• Be a team player, willing to learn and get involved with a wide range of tasks.
• Be motivated with a positive 'can do' attitude.
• Have between 1-2 years' of gardening experience across hotels, or private residences.
