Job description

This is an incredibly exciting role, taking over the day to day running of our newest retail addition, the Daylesford Garden Shop. Working alongside our Plants Team and Florists, you will be immersed in all our wonderful Flowers, Plants and luxury gardening equipment, focusing on organic gardening, traditional gardening practices and of course driven through the changing seasons.

Product
  1. To lead by example in your knowledge of all Garden Products.
  2. To share knowledge of the Farm and what we do when conversing with customers.
  3. To champion full shelves, fixed merchandising and appropriate POS.
  4. To develop team product knowledge.
SERVICE
  1. Ensure every customer receives the best possible customer service across the store.
  2. To champion swift, efficient, knowledgeable and engaging service, ensuring store compliance with retail standards document.
  3. To be solution-driven for both team members and customers.
  4. To follow the company complaints procedure to ensure customer complaints are satisfactorily resolved.
OPERATIONS
  1. To assist the General Manager to maintain a safe and beautifully presented workplace, ensuring we are fully compliant with H&S regulations.
  2. To participate in opening/closing procedures of the store.
  3. To ensure the daily banking and cash reconciliation is undertaken.
  4. To be responsible for all due diligence and score >90% in all audits.
NUMBERS
  1. To support in managing the retail operation effectively to maximise sales.
  2. To manage the retail ordering effectively to ensure minimum waste with full availability.
  3. To ensure all retail stock and till processes are adhered to ensuring minimum variance between actual and book counts.
  4. To grow retail sales.
  5. To manage the rota effectively to deliver target wage cost.
PEOPLE
  1. To engage the team in the weekly targets and deliver agreed basket spend and transaction targets to deliver target sales.
  2. To complete all People admin and processes for the team in a timely manner.
  3. Ensure a smooth and structured onboarding for your new TMs, supporting Team Member Trainers with 4WTP.
  4. Delegate tasks to the team to ensure the smooth running of the department.
  5. To recruit the best people for the right job role.
  6. To develop, train and coach your team through performance review and personalised learning & development.
  7. Ensure staff complete all necessary mandatory training.
  8. To bring fun into the workplace and ensure a happy, motivated and focused team.
Qualifications
  1. Retail Management or Team Leader experience - Proven experience in leading teams and overseeing daily retail operations to achieve business goals and maintain smooth store functions.
  2. Experience within a luxury retailer - Background in working for high-end or luxury retail brands, understanding the importance of exceptional customer service and maintaining brand standards.
  3. Passion for Gardening, Nature, and Sustainability - Deep enthusiasm for the environment, with a focus on sustainable practices and a love for gardening and the natural world.
  4. Great Salesperson - Strong ability to engage with customers, understand their needs, and drive sales through effective communication and product knowledge.
  5. Excellent Leader and Team Manager - Skilled in motivating, guiding, and managing a team, ensuring everyone works toward common goals and personal growth.
  6. Organised - Highly structured and efficient in planning, time management, and overseeing store operations to ensure maximum productivity.
SALARY

£27,500 - £34,000 DOE + Tronc

HOURS

Full Time - 40H - Available 5 days out of 7 (weekends required) / Early Shift 6.30am Start / Late Shift 20.30pm Finish.
