Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking a Garden Maintenance Operative to join the Repairs & Maintenance Service. You will work across the city on garden clearance, vegetation management and external make-safe works at void homes and temporary accommodation, ensuring safe, lettable standards.

Typical duties include cutting grass and hedges, clearing waste, operating gardening machinery, and adhering to health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture or similar environment.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and manage workloads.
• Commitment to health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out garden clearance, vegetation management and external make-safe works.
• Cutting grass, hedges, shrubs and overgrown vegetation.
• Clearing gardens and external areas of waste and debris.
• Using gardening machinery safely and maintaining equipment.
• Ensuring properties meet lettable and neighbourhood standards.
