Job Title: Garage Mechanic

Location: Rotherham

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:30 pm, with alternate weekend shifts (6:00 am - 2:00 pm) and a midweek day off.

Salary: £37,593.63

They are currently looking for a dedicated and skilled Mechanic to join their Mobile Plant Maintenance team. Based in Rotherham, this role involves providing maintenance and repair services for a diverse range of mobile plants and equipment across Rotherham and Sheffield.

About the role:

1. Perform MOT preparation, annual servicing, and breakdown repairs on-site vans.
2. Maintain and repair HGVs, trailers, mobile cranes, forklifts, and specialized heavy industrial vehicles used in the steelmaking industry.
3. Offer mechanical and basic electrical maintenance services, including fault-finding on mobile plant equipment.

About You:

1. Qualifications: You should be BTEC, NVQ Level 3 qualified (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of experience in vehicle maintenance.
2. Safety-Conscious: Strong understanding of safe working procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
3. Skills: Methodical approach to work, excellent fault-finding abilities, strong communication skills, and attention to detail.
4. Independent Worker: Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised, and deliver exceptional customer service in line with departmental objectives.
5. License: A full, valid UK driving license is essential.
