Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is seeking a Galvanising Operative to join a busy manufacturing operation in Sittingbourne. This hands‑on role focuses on preparing steel products for the hot‑dip galvanising process, with safety and quality as priorities.

The role is on‑site with a night shift, 10:00pm–6:00am, paid £15.01 per hour, on a temp‑to‑perm basis. Full training is provided, and there is genuine progression into a permanent position after the temporary period.

• Experience in manufacturing or practical environment is beneficial; full training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare steel products by hanging and securing them for galvanising.
• Ensure materials are positioned correctly for galvanising and handled safely.
• Inspect products before and after galvanising and report defects.
• Operate workshop machinery and lifting equipment safely.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe production areas.

Galvanising Operative

Location: Sittingbourne

Pay: £15.01 per hour

Hours: 10:00pm - 6:00am

Contract: Temp to Perm

Morgan Jones is currently recruiting for a Galvanising Operative to join a busy and established manufacturing operation in Sittingbourne.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, is comfortable working in an industrial environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

No previous galvanising experience is required, as full training will be provided. For the right candidate, there is a genuine opportunity to move into a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

The Role

Working as part of the production team, you will be responsible for preparing steel products for the hot-dip galvanising process and ensuring materials are handled safely and correctly throughout production.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing steel products by hanging and securing them onto jigs
• Ensuring materials are correctly positioned ready for galvanising
• Safely handling and manoeuvring heavy steel components
• Using lifting equipment and overhead cranes where required
• Inspecting products before and after the galvanising process
• Identifying and reporting any defects or quality issues
• Operating workshop machinery and equipment safely
• Working towards daily production and quality targets
• Following all health and safety procedures
• Carrying out general manual handling duties
• Keeping the production area clean, organised and safe
• Working closely with colleagues to maintain an efficient production process

About You

Previous experience within manufacturing, production, assembly or another practical environment would be beneficial, but full training is available for candidates with the right attitude and work ethic.
