Job description

The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) is seeking a visionary and collaborative Galleries Curator to lead the creative and strategic development of our galleries across Farnham, Epsom, and Canterbury.

In this pivotal role, you’ll shape UCA’s curatorial direction, develop high-impact programming, and build national and international partnerships that enhance the university’s cultural profile. You’ll curate inclusive, interdisciplinary exhibitions aligned with academic and research priorities, while championing student engagement, global conversations, and creative excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curate and manage an annual programme of innovative exhibitions and public events.
  • Develop a unified curatorial strategy across all UCA galleries and act as UCA’s cultural ambassador.
  • Build strong partnerships with the Craft Study Centre and local/global cultural networks.
  • Secure external funding from public and private funders.
  • Embed gallery activity within UCA’s research themes and student learning.
  • Coordinate degree shows and student-led initiatives across campuses.
  • Manage gallery staff, budgets, and logistics for installations and programming.
