Job description

An exciting opportunity for a Lead FX Engineer – Manager to take ownership of a critical high-volume FX Deal Capture platform. This role involves managing a global team while providing technical leadership and driving the modernization of the platform. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the system meets stringent performance, reliability, and availability requirements. London based – 3-4 days per week in office

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage the FX Deal Capture team, ensuring the successful execution of projects within allocated budgets and deadlines.
  2. Define objectives, project milestones, and completion timelines while assessing potential risks.
  3. Architect and execute the modernization of the FX booking platform, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  4. Drive software engineering best practices and ensure high-quality, performant, and reliable systems.
  5. Engage with key stakeholders, including business users and IT teams, to align technical solutions with business needs.
  6. Provide strategic technology leadership and contribute to broader departmental technology strategy.
  7. Act as the primary point of contact between IT and business teams for the FX Deal Capture platform.
Key Requirements
  1. Strong software engineering expertise with a focus on .NET and C#. Experience with C++ is beneficial.
  2. Proven experience in high-volume transactional systems such as FX, equities, or similar financial transaction platforms.
  3. Ability to design systems with sub-second response times, capable of handling large trade volumes and real-time booking updates.
  4. Understanding of low-latency, high-performance system architecture.
  5. Experience working with offshore development teams.
  6. Strong grasp of risk management, trade lifecycle, and position management.
  7. A proven leader with experience managing global teams, including business analysts, testers, and developers.
