Job description

We are excited to be recruiting in our Futures provision for an energetic and dedicated Futures Coach to join our team on a maternity 12 month contract. This role is all about supporting young people as they navigate the important transition from school and education into adulthood.

Our work focuses on four key areas to help each learner build a meaningful and independent future: employment, independent living, community inclusion, and health and wellbeing.

A day in the life of a Futures Coach would include:

  • Providing support and guidance to our learners going through the transition in life from leaving education to entering adulthood
  • Encouraging learners to develop effective communication and social interaction skills as well as behaving appropriately in public settings
  • Ensuring accurate individual personal student records are maintained
  • Supporting the development of learners’ confidence, resilience and motivation enabling them to make informed decisions with support about their future
  • Carefully planning activities and opportunities for learners in a safe way
  • Assisting with completion of all necessary evaluations, reports and documentation as required
  • Promoting learner independence at all times whether that is with interviews, taking public transport and all interaction in the community
  • Seeking partnerships with adult social services and external professionals to support the successful transition of learners from education to adulthood

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:30-4:30, 40 hours per week, working 41 weeks a year.
