Base pay range
Hey - I'm Jaysen. I run The Corporate Law Academy, also known as ‘TCLA'. It's the largest forum in the legal profession.
At TCLA, we're building the home of the world's best legal talent. It's our mission to make sure everyone, no matter their background, location or circumstances, has access to the best information to succeed in their legal careers.
Now is an exciting time to join us. We're raising money and using AI to change the delivery of legal education. But what we care about the most is the core of our community. What keeps us going every day is speaking to students on a 1-2-1 basis and making sure they know what is possible.
What is a Product Lead?
As a future trainee solicitor, you've been through the law firm application cycle, and you know what it's like. How do you present your experiences in a law firm application? How do you communicate confidently in an interview? How do you develop your commercial awareness?
Our products at TCLA provide the best information to tackle each step to securing a training contract. As a Product Lead, you'll be on the frontlines, working directly with applicants.
This includes:
- Reviewing applications and written exercises on behalf of aspiring lawyers, teaching them how to write simply and communicate their motivations
- Owning the delivery of mock interviews across case studies, video interviews, competency and commercial interviews, including tracking metrics, data and knowledge sharing across the team
- Planning and running 1-2-1 personal coaching programmes to applicants going through the training contract journey
- Running our virtual and in person classes
- Supporting the wider team in events, feedback and konwledge sharing
Requirements
You need to be a future trainee at a law firm to apply for this role. We are looking for the following skills, motivations and attributes:
- You have exceptional attention to detail and written communication skills
- You care deeply about helping students to succeed in the working world
- You lead with kindness, and your care shows in the way you support aspiring lawyers, as well as your support for the rest of the team
- You have an exceptional understanding of the law firm process and how a candidate can improve their skills
- You have a growth mindset. You understand that while you may not know everything, you are willing to ask questions and try to work things out. You like pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone because you know that's where you'll grow
- You act with speed and intensity. We are a small team and we've been able to achieve a lot by working quickly and intensely
- You will go above and beyond to support other members of the team
Benefits
Why join us?
This is a role where you will learn fast, and we expect you will develop skills that will not only shape you into an excellent commercial lawyer, but it will significantly accelerate your personal development. We have a flat structure at TCLA, which means you'll be right in the weeds of a start-up. You'll learn a lot about the commercial world, how a business operates, what law firms do, and perhaps most importantly, about yourself.
We work hard because we care about having a lasting impact. It's fun to create something that never existed before, and you'll be front and centre. What you'll see is daily messages from candidates who are grateful to have had your support.
Finally, you'll be in an environment where you're appreciated and valued. Our most common feedback is the best part of working for TCLA is the team. We work hard, care about what we do and care about each other.
