Teaching Personnel is seeking graduates for the Future Teachers Programme as Graduate Cover Supervisors in the Christchurch & Bournemouth area from January. No lesson planning required; you will step in for absent teachers and support students with their current work.
You'll gain valuable classroom experience, build confidence with young people, and observe teaching across subjects. The role offers a full-time, Monday-to-Friday schedule with school hours and ongoing CPD opportunities.
Christchurch & Bournemouth | January Start | £23,000 - £27,000
Finished university and not quite ready to head straight into teacher training?
If you've ever considered teaching, but want to see what life in a school is actually like before committing to a PGCE, our Future Teachers Programme could be exactly what you're looking for.
We're working with a number of secondary schools across the Christchurch and Bournemouth area who are looking for graduates to join them from January as Cover Supervisors. It's a fantastic opportunity to gain meaningful classroom experience, build confidence working with young people, and discover whether teaching is the right career path for you.
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll step into lessons when teachers are absent and ensure students remain focused on the work that has already been set. You won't be expected to plan lessons or mark work, which means you can concentrate on developing your classroom presence, behaviour management skills and understanding of how schools operate day to day.
Many of the teachers we work with started exactly where you are now. They wanted to gain some experience before applying for teacher training and found that working in a school gave them the confidence and insight they needed to take the next step.
During your placement, you'll get the chance to learn how successful classrooms are run, support students with their learning, observe different teaching styles and develop skills that are highly valued both in education and beyond.
Whether you're hoping to become a teacher in the future or simply looking for a rewarding graduate role where no two days are the same, this is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door.
