Job Title: Radar Signal Processing Technical Lead

Salary: Circa £80,000 depending on skills and experience

Overview

Join a dynamic Radar Signal Processing Technical Lead role at the forefront of real-world demands in the defence industry. Ensure operational excellence for existing products, develop next-generation radar products to counter emerging threats, and contribute to our technology strategy. Engage in diverse activities applying System Engineering principles across the entire development lifecycle, developing radar systems used by those who serve and protect us.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead design and architectural implementation of a common signal processing platform for future complex radar products, providing technical leadership to a team designing, implementing, and integrating signal processing solutions into radar products.
  2. Interact effectively with project technical authority, engineering manager, and senior stakeholders.
  3. Collaborate with specialists across electronics, electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines to ensure a consistent system design approach.
  4. Apply and promote ISO 15288 Systems Engineering principles throughout the engineering lifecycle, from requirements to system support and disposal.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Expert understanding of Signal Processing algorithms and their implementation in real-time software environments.
  • Knowledge of the relationship between algorithms, software, and hardware platforms.
  • Experience leading signal processing architecture development and design activities.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
  • Experience in Complex Radar Signal Processing.
  • Knowledge of software and hardware engineering lifecycles from requirements to in-service support is highly desirable.

The Radar Systems Engineering Team

As the Radar Signal Processing Technical Lead, you will lead the design and implementation of a common signal processing platform, providing technical leadership to a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring integration across the engineering lifecycle. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and promote ISO 15288 Systems Engineering principles. The role offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements, with accessible commute options from Southampton via ferry and shuttle service.
