Job description

American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care providers in the U.S., offering services seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Our state-of-the-art centers focus on the episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each location is equipped with an onsite lab and in-house x-ray capabilities.

AFC is the parent company of AFC Franchising, LLC (AFCF). This position works directly with a franchised location. Specific job duties and benefits may vary between franchises.

Job Summary

Perform radiographic and diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing injuries and diseases. Assist with administrative and clinical tasks such as patient registration and medical assisting duties.

Responsibilities
  1. Greet patients and explain procedures compassionately.
  2. Position patients appropriately for diagnostic imaging.
  3. Process images, review for proper identification and quality, and prepare images for physician review and radiologist overreads.
  4. Utilize digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with radiology techniques and policies.
  5. Assist providers with prescribed treatments following standards, policies, and protocols.
  6. Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and coordinate repairs.
  7. Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports.
  8. Serve as Medical Receptionist and/or Medical Assistant if needed, within guidelines.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience. ARRT registration or eligibility is preferred. Must be licensed per state regulation. Depending on the state, acceptable certifications include Medical Assistant Certification, Practical Nursing License, EMT, or Paramedic.
