Job description

Red Nucleus will be hiring for a Graphic Designer in the near future. This will be a hybrid role based out of our London, UK office.

ROLE

As a Graphic Designer, your primary role is to communicate information, ideas, and concepts through the language of graphic design. On a daily basis, you will develop graphics and other visual assets for digital and print-based learning solutions for our clients.

You will collaborate with a talented group of individuals with diverse skills across multiple disciplines — including Client Service Directors, Account Directors, Medical Directors, Medical Writers, Instructional Designers, other Graphic Designers, Programmers, and Medical Editors — and our clients to ensure that RN’s training is accurate, engaging, and meets or exceeds client needs and Red Nucleus standards. Occasionally, you will also support sales efforts with Account Managers.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities are divided into two core areas: Creative Development and Sales Support, with most time spent on Creative Development.

Creative Development
  • Contribute to the overall creative approach for projects
  • Develop graphics, illustrations, UI elements, and other visual assets for digital, multimedia, responsive learning, and print solutions
  • Apply design principles to communicate visual solutions for various subject matters
  • Find creative solutions for complex layouts and compositions
  • Maintain a consistent look and feel across all visual assets within a project
  • Follow client-provided brand guidelines when applicable
  • Research scientific design or illustration needs, consulting with medical writing teams and online references
  • Keep all working files organized according to RN standards
  • Provide properly compressed output files to the development team as per RN standards
  • Follow up with team members to ensure tasks are completed
  • Obtain technical specifications before developing assets (browser limitations, responsiveness, screen dimensions, printer requirements, etc.)
  • Adhere to art department standards for production, quality, and customer service
  • Familiarize with RN software engines and productivity tools
  • Track time and expenses accurately in software
  • Provide time estimates for tasks to project managers
  • Contribute to internal initiatives and participate in peer reviews or critique sessions
Sales Support
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and team members to develop graphics for proposals and pitches
Requirements
  • BA/BS/BFA in graphic design, interactive design, medical illustration, or relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat
  • Willingness to adhere to core design principles, accept feedback, and demonstrate attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure
  • Motivated, adaptable, curious, and professional attitude
  • Self-critique skills
Other qualifications
  • Digital agency experience
  • Knowledge of Adobe CC applications such as After Effects and XD, 3D, Photography, Video editing, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Drawing fundamentals
