UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) invites applications for a role focused on radiological consequence assessment and fusion safety strategy. Based at Culham, Oxfordshire, the position requires SC-level security clearance or the ability to obtain it, and regular onsite presence (3–5 days/week).

The role involves regulatory input, international collaboration, and expert advisory duties across safety, security and environmental protection disciplines to support national and global fusion policy

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or science with relevant experience or postgraduate qualification.
• Experience or knowledge of safety, security, environmental protection and waste management regulations.

Responsabilités

• Lead high-level radiological consequence assessment for postulated accident scenarios.
• Contribute to fusion safety, security and environmental regulation development.
• Plan regulatory familiarisation and provide site visits and expert presentations.
