Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority is recruiting four Project Managers to lead projects and workstreams delivering fusion energy mission impact. Roles are 24-month fixed-term, full-time or part-time with flexible working and regular onsite presence (usually 3 days/week).

Budgets range from £500k to £5m annually, with opportunities to contribute to science, engineering and facility development. You will manage project teams, contracts and governance while ensuring outcomes meet time, cost and quality

Qualifications

• Demonstrated track record delivering projects in technical/engineering settings.
• PM qualification (APM PMQ or PRINCE2) required.
• Knowledge of project delivery methodologies and governance requirements.
• Experience managing project budgets up to £5 million annually.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily leadership and management of the project and project team.
• Evaluate and present decisions that secure benefits the project delivers.
• Monitor benefits realisation against the business case.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and secure senior-level support.
• Oversee supplier contracts, procurement activity and performance.
• Develop project plans, schedules and delivery controls.
• Track budgets and address forecast variances.
• Identify risks, issues, dependencies and changes.
• Coordinate governance, assurance and reporting to boards.
