Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is assisting a Corsham-based maker of luxury furniture to recruit a Furniture Sprayer & Prepper. The role involves preparing and finishing complex pieces with high-quality sprays, lacquers and stains.

It is a full-time permanent position with a Monday-Thursday 8:30–17:00 and Friday 8:30–16:00 schedule and paid breaks. The candidate should have at least five years of relevant experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced workshop.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience in a similar furniture spraying or prep role.
• Experience with sealers, primers, furniture lacquers, paints and stains.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic workshop.

Responsibilities

• Check over, prepare, spray and finish complex furniture pieces to high standards.
• Perform sanding, burnishing and surface preparation tasks.
• Operate a 6” orbital sander and other tools and abrasives.
• Occasional site visits, including potential overseas locations.

Overview

A Furniture Sprayer & Prepper is required by a company creating furniture for the super‑yacht and high‑end residential market, based in Corsham (SN13). This full‑time, permanent position offers £14–£16 per hour depending on experience. Working Monday to Thursday 8:30–17:00 and Friday 8:30–16:00, with paid breaks.

Responsibilities

• Check over, prepare, spray and finish complex forms and furniture pieces, ensuring high‑quality finishes for luxury projects.
• Perform sanding, burnishing and other surface preparation tasks, often in a physically demanding setting.
• Operate a 6” orbital sander and other hand and power tools and abrasives.
• Attend site visits on occasion, which may be outside the UK.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience in a similar furniture spraying or prep role.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and competence in spraying and preparation techniques.
• Experience with sealers, primers, furniture lacquers, paints and stains.
• Metal coating spraying experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems in a dynamic workshop environment.
• Valid full UK driving licence and passport preferred for occasional overseas visits.
