Type: Hourly Contract

Compensation: $40–$70/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided)

  • Evaluate a wide range of home and garden products including furniture, décor, bedding, kitchenware, appliances, lighting, outdoor furniture, grills, and more. Assess these products based on shopper needs like style, space, budget, and lifestyle.
  • Write clear, concise, and objective product recommendations with links, prices, pros/cons, and clear 'who this is for' notes tailored to various budgets and home styles.
  • Compare products across different price tiers and retailers, identifying the best value picks, premium options, and noting availability and return policies.
  • Consider product fit for specific use cases, dimensions/clearances, delivery/assembly logistics, finishes/care, and suitability for kids/pets.
  • Create quick, skimmable buyer’s guides for common home and garden needs (e.g., small-apartment sofa, quiet dishwasher, patio set for a balcony, renter-friendly lighting).
  • Review and refine AI-suggested product picks, correct errors, add context, and suggest alternatives from reputable retailers.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in buyer-facing roles such as showroom/specialty retail, home goods/kitchen stores, appliance sales, or category merchandising. Editorial/product review experience is a plus. Enthusiasts with a strong track record are welcome.
  • Ability to evaluate products based on real-world performance and shopper needs. Experience with home products such as furniture, kitchenware, lighting, and more.
  • Comfortable comparing products across multiple retailers and price points, with proficiency in linking to trustworthy sources and providing clear pros/cons.
  • Sound judgment on practical factors such as material durability, easy care, and kid/pet friendliness.
