Job summary

Bodycote plc is seeking a Furnace Operator to join a small team and carry out heat treatment of aerospace and medical components. You will operate furnaces, prepare parts, and ensure all work adheres to strict quality and safety standards, while supporting production flow and goods in/out activities.

The role includes FLT operation, First Aid duties (training provided), and occasional local driving. Regular shift work in a hands-on environment offers development in aerospace and medical

Qualifications

  • Engineering or manufacturing background required.
  • Good numeracy skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic IT skills (spreadsheets advantageous).
  • Ability to work to procedures and quality standards.
  • Flexible, team-focused approach with willingness to train.

Responsibilities

  • Operate furnaces and process customer parts, ensuring quality and safety.
  • Support production flow by following written procedures and monitoring processes.
  • Maintain accurate output and assist with goods in/out activities.
  • FLT operation and First Aid duties (training provided)
  • Occasional local driving
  • Provide general support to maintain a safe, clean environment.

The Role

As a Furnace Operator, you’ll work as part of a small team to meet production targets and carry out heat treatment of critical aerospace and medical components. You will operate furnaces, prepare and process customer parts, and ensure all work meets strict quality and safety standards. You’ll also support production flow by working to written procedures, monitoring processes, maintaining accurate output, and assisting with goods in/out activities. The role includes FLT operation and First Aid duties (training provided), occasional local driving, and general support to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.

Location & Work Pattern

This role is based in Chardwith onsite expectations. Shift work is required 6-2.2-10,10-6
