About Us

At Funeral Partners, we offer a sensitive, professional service to the families in our care, and we are leading the way in setting new standards of excellence within the profession.

The Opportunity

Doves Funeral Directors - Maidstone are currently looking for a casual Funeral Service Operative. The hours are varied, and there is the opportunity to fit the role in around your other commitments.

Calm and professional, our Funeral Operatives play a vital role in our service and are often the first members of the team to meet our families. A good Funeral Service Operative will be able to provide reassurance to families that we will take good care of their loved ones whilst we prepare them for their final journey.

In addition to bringing people's loved ones into our care, Funeral Service Operatives play an active role behind the scenes, working in the mortuary, fitting coffins, and dressing the deceased; as well as participating in funeral services, pallbearing, and helping to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Being a Funeral Service Operative can be challenging and rewarding, and no two days are quite the same.

Your duties will include driving company vehicles, so you'll need a full driving licence.

You'll also have a place on the out of hours, and on-call rota, which will provide an opportunity to earn additional payments.

Hourly rate includes £1.20 per hour Weighting Allowance.

Any applicant who has applied within the previous six months for this role and has not been successful need not apply.

Please ensure that you fully complete the online application form and include your last 5 years employment/education/gaps history; we are unable to progress applications that are not fully completed onto the next stage of the selection process.

Funeral Partners Ltd is committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, and marriage and civil partnerships.

If you require any reasonable adjustments to support you through the recruitment and selection process, please do not hesitate to contact our HR team on 0118 9406900 or via email hr@funeralpartners.co.uk for any assistance.

Funeral Partners is the third largest funeral services provider in the UK, with over 240 funeral homes, almost 1000 employees overseeing over 20,000 funerals annually.

Comprehensive training for all our roles and opportunities to achieve industry recognised qualifications.

Permanent Colleagues: 23 days annual leave, increasing to 26 days with service - plus bank holidays.
