You will support funeral services as a driver and bearer, participate in a 24/7 on‑call rota, and help prepare coffins, care for the deceased, and handle belongings with dignity.

No previous funeral experience is required; the role offers full training, a supportive environment, and meaningful, varied work where you truly make a difference in families during times of need.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• Able to reach the office within 60 minutes when on call.
• Physically fit and comfortable with lifting and hands‑on work.
• Dependable, organised, and calm under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and a naturally empathetic approach.
• Team-focused attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support funeral services as a driver and bearer, ensuring dignity throughout
• Take part in a 24/7 on‑call rota (approx. one week in three)
• Assist with the care of the deceased and accurate handling of belongings
• Help prepare coffins, caskets, and the funeral home
• Maintain vehicles to exceptionally high standards
• Ensure services run smoothly, including checking floral tributes
• Work calmly and respectfully with families and colleagues
