Job summary

Lincolnshire Co-op is seeking a Funeral Operative to support families during difficult times with compassion, dignity and professionalism. You’ll work behind the scenes and with Funeral Directors to ensure every person in our care is treated with respect.

You may assist with removals, preparations, services and driving, with on-call duties as required. Training will be provided, and you’ll join a supportive team within a long-standing community-focused society.

• Provide compassionate, respectful care for those entrusted to us at every stage of the funeral journey.
• Support removals, preparations and funeral services with dignity and professionalism.
• Drive and care for funeral vehicles, ensuring safe transport.
• Prepare coffins, equipment and vehicles to high standards.
• Work closely with Funeral Directors and colleagues to deliver seamless services.

You could be carefully preparing someone for their finalfarewell, supporting a funeral service, driving one of our funeral vehicles,assisting with removals, or helping ensure every detail has been thoughtfullyarranged. While much of the role happens behind the scenes, everything you dohas a lasting impact on the families we support.

This is a role for someone who takes pride in doing thingsthe right way, works with sensitivity and remains calm and professional inemotionally challenging situations.

What you'll be doing

As a Funeral Operative, you'll:

• Providecompassionate, respectful care for those entrusted to us throughout everystage of the funeral journey.
• Supportremovals, preparations and funeral services with dignity, professionalismand attention to detail.
• Driveand care for our funeral vehicles, ensuring safe, reliable and respectfultransport.
• Preparecoffins, equipment and vehicles to the highest standards.
• Workclosely with Funeral Directors, colleagues and external organisations todeliver seamless funeral services.

About You

You don't need previous experience in Funeral Services to join us – we'll provide the training, guidance and support you need to build a rewarding career.

You’ll likely bring:

• The ability to remain calm, professional and empathetic in sensitive situations.
• Excellent communication skills and a warm, approachable manner.
• Confidence working as part of a close-knit team while also being able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high standards.
• A flexible attitude and willingness to support a variety of duties, including an on-call rota where required.
• Reliability, integrity and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• A full UK driving licence and confidence driving as part of your role.

• The following payments will be awarded per call:
• £29.68 for each night you are scheduled on-call (this is doubled at the weekend and on bank holidays)
• Each individual call-out is paid £59.37
