Mploy Staffing Solutions Ltd is looking for a permanent Funeral Director & Celebrant to join our highly valued client in Poole, Dorset.

Why should you be interested? Our client is offering:

  • a salary of £29,000 to £40,000 PA, subject to experience/interview performance.
  • permanent full-time work, 40 hours per week with hours of work to be confirmed, Monday to Friday. Expect to work 1 Saturday in 6 & to carry an on-call phone 1 evening in 3 (hours to be confirmed).
  • 28 days holiday PA, including bank holidays.

In return for these excellent benefits, our client is looking for a candidate who:

  • recognises the importance of the role and their responsibility to not only the deceased but also to the families our client is privileged enough to care for.
  • is either an experienced Funeral Director & Celebrant or is eager to become one. Looking to make a career change? A demonstrated interest in funeral direction & celebrancy, including current study, has worked well in the past with our client.
  • has an exact attention to detail and would be able to arrange and conduct a fitting funeral. You will be a strong administrator with an empathetic approach to ensure each family is well cared for. Expect to host families to discuss their wishes; lead ceremonies with grace; direct team members & organise memorial trees/benches/stones/gardens/keepsakes, audio/visual resources, printing (Orders of Service), coffins, graves, wake refreshments, floral tributes, on-site/inter-site transport & relevant notices.
  • is flexible & thrives in a dynamic/varied environment. Expect to arrange and conduct religious, secular, traditional & modern funerals across a variety of ceremony halls & locations, culminating in either burial or cremation of the deceased.
  • is conversant with the Microsoft Office package and confident using telephone systems.
  • is consultative. Expect to provide expert advice on available services so families can make appropriate & well-informed decisions. You will also be able to advise families on relevant laws, regulations & terms.
  • is an articulate communicator with confidence in public speaking. You will be comfortable addressing large congregations and small gatherings, knowing how to adapt to an audience.
  • has a very high standard of personal presentation.
