Job summary

Carta is seeking a Funds Delivery Lawyer to supervise paralegals and manage end-to-end LP transfer workflows across multiple client accounts. You will work with the Funds team to deliver high-quality transfer work and maintain strong client relationships.

We value experience in funds law, a client-focused mindset, leadership ability, and comfort with AI-backed legal tools. England & Wales qualification and 5+ years recommended.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor paralegals through LP transfer processes and ensure documentation is accurate and timely.
• Serve as primary contact for clients and counterparties, coordinating KYC/AML, transfer documentation, signing, and post-closing actions.
• Own and evolve client playbooks and negotiation parameters, escalating issues to the Legal Director while maintaining momentum.
• Build and deepen trusted client relationships and position Carta as the go-to partner for LP transfers.
• Support business development by contributing to pitches with Growth team.
• Collaborate with technology to improve AI-driven delivery tools and workflows.

The Team You’ll Work With

You’ll be joining our Funds team, specifically within the LP Transfers function.

Our LP Transfers team manages the end-to-end transfer process for limited partner interests across multiple client accounts each quarter. Working alongside paralegals and senior lawyers, you’ll own day-to-day client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for complex multi-party transfer workflows. This team operates at the cutting edge of legal delivery, using AI-backed tools to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes for some of the world's most sophisticated asset managers and investment funds.

• Supervise and mentor paralegals through complex LP transfer processes, ensuring documentation is accurate, timely, and aligned with client playbooks and SLAs
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and counterparties, coordinating KYC/AML, transfer documentation, signing, and post-closing actions
• Own and evolve client playbooks and negotiation parameters, escalating material issues to the Legal Director while maintaining deal momentum
• Build and deepen trusted client relationships, positioning Carta as the go-to partner for LP transfer work
• Support business development by contributing to new client pitches alongside the Growth team
• Partner with the technology team to continuously improve AI-driven legal delivery tools and workflows

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in funds law. You have a strong background in LP transfers, closed-ended funds, or private markets work and can independently manage complex transfer processes.
• Client-focused and commercially minded. You build strong relationships with sophisticated asset manager and investment fund clients and know how to communicate clearly under pressure.
• A natural leader and mentor. You have experience supervising and developing junior lawyers and paralegals, and can manage team performance across multiple simultaneous workflows.
• Detail-driven and execution-focused. You thrive on getting deals done – you prioritise effectively, handle competing deadlines, and do not lose momentum.
• Tech-savvy. You are comfortable working with AI-backed legal tools and are curious about the role of technology in modern legal delivery.
• Licensed to practice. You are qualified in England & Wales or a comparable jurisdiction. 5+ years of relevant experience recommended.
