True Self Wealth- Chartered Financial Adviser For Diverse Individuals | Vouchedfor Top Adviser 2024 | FT Adviser's Diversity Champion of the Year |…

Trans Support Hub CIC are looking for two volunteers to join their rapidly growing team to help with fundraising to make LGBTQ+ Clothes Swaps available more regularly in wider areas. Although the events support the LGBTQ+ community in general, they are specifically tailored to be a positive experience for trans people, including those who are new to exploring their gender, medically transitioning, or just updating their wardrobe in a safe and fun space.

They are in an exciting place because they are undergoing a rebrand and looking to expand their operations to make clothes swaps available throughout the UK, either by partnering with other CICs and charities that support the community or in their own right. Funding is their main barrier, which is where you come in.

Remote | Flexible hours (minimum average 2 hours a week) | Medium-term potential for paid role

You’ll focus on building relationships with businesses, community groups, and other organisations. Your goal is to secure support in the form of clothing, equipment, sponsorship, AND financial donations.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and deliver a strategy for approaching local and national businesses for partnership and sponsorship.
  • Seek donations of clothing, equipment, or other in-kind support.
  • Work with the marketing team to create impactful proposals, presentations, and social media content.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners, reporting back on the impact of their support.
  • Keep accurate records of partnership activity and progress.
  • Liaise with the other fundraiser to ensure your strategy complements theirs.

Remote | Flexible hours (minimum average 2 hours a week) | Potential for paid role which would be full time

You’ll focus on researching and applying for grant funding from trusts, foundations, and other funding bodies.

What you’ll do:

  • Research relevant grants and funding opportunities for trans and LGBTQ+ causes.
  • Develop and implement a grant application strategy.
  • Work with the marketing team to provide compelling narratives, evidence, and case studies.
  • Write and submit high-quality grant applications.
  • Track deadlines, monitor outcomes, and report back on progress.
  • Liaise with the other fundraiser to ensure your strategy complements theirs.

BOTH ROLES: What you’ll get:

  • Experience in charity fundraising, with real scope to shape your own projects.
  • Support from Jamie, our Managing Director, and other members of the team, including oversight on overall strategy, budgets, and priorities.
  • The chance to make a direct impact on the lives of trans and non-binary people.
  • In the short-medium term, the potential for a paid position which you would raise funding for.

BOTH ROLES: Who we’re looking for:

  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence to reach out and build new relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills and self-motivation.
  • A genuine commitment to trans inclusion and equality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the marketing team and leadership.

BOTH ROLES: Time commitment:

Flexible, but we ask for at least 8 hours per month, with opportunities for more if you have capacity and interest.
