Job description

Title: Fundraising Officer

Hours: 16 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £28,083.62 (FTE) per annum

Purpose

The post holder will increase the provision of unrestricted funding streams to enable YMCA DG to carry out its objects and increase opportunities for developing new and existing projects, and raise our profile.

Responsible For

The post holder will be responsible for raising unrestricted funds for YMCA DG from fundraising, grants/trusts and developing over key income streams (donations, legacies, corporate etc.); and raising the profile of YMCA Dulverton Group and the work it does.

Main Responsibilities

Fundraising

  • Host a number of fundraising events annually to assist unrestricted income and raise profile.
  • Assist in developing new revenue sources through appropriate business or community partnerships.
  • Work with fundraising groups and supporters in ways that encourage and support people to encourage long-term support and fundraising.
  • Provide supporters with a wide range/choice of how they fundraise and work with YMCA DG.
  • Build effective and long lasting relationships with donors, fundraisers and corporate’s.
  • Research, identify and pursue new sources of potential corporate income.
  • Liaise with local business to raise our profile and promote sponsorship, volunteering and other forms of support.
  • Gathering and disseminating funding information from weekly bulletins, updates and other online resources.
  • Assist with research, writing and specific tasks on large-scale bids and tenders as required.
  • Compiling and sending out information packs to potential donors and supporters which raise YMCA Dulverton Group’s profile.
  • Fundraising and raise profile.

Administration and Communication

  • Report on the progress of fundraising activities against targets. Compile statistics and maintain financial records, keep timely and accurate records of all donor activities.
  • Deliver highly effective presentations at fundraising events, meetings or public places.
  • Provide fundraising content, events and activities to the Head of Marketing and Communications to promote.
  • Provide a high level of donor care through acknowledgement to develop relationships.
  • Work with the Head of Marketing and Communications to review web pages for appeals and events to ensure they are kept up to date, make recommendations for improvements.
  • Work with the Head of Marketing and Communications to provide information on events and supporters for press releases and liaise with press at events.
  • Contribute to social media during fundraising events.
  • Engage key stakeholders through advertising, direct mail, events and new media campaigns.
  • Review and edit existing fundraising materials for marketing effectiveness.
  • Develop strong relationships with a wide range of individual and organisational contacts to ensure ongoing and developing support.

Sales Strategy

  • To develop an annual sales plan in conjunction with the Executive Team that meets the commercial needs of the Association.

Fundraising Strategy

  • To oversee the implementation of the Fundraising Strategy providing hands on support for bid writing and other fundraising approaches.
  • To oversee capital fundraising campaigns.
