Job Summary

We’re looking for a strong writer who can help us secure funding to support our work with local communities. As Fundraising Officer, you’ll be part of a small, friendly team. You will identify funding opportunities, write clear and compelling funding applications, and ensure we meet funders’ reporting requirements.

Full training and ongoing support will be provided, including monitoring, evaluation, and project delivery where relevant.

This position is part-time, permanent, and 16-24 hours per week (to be arranged with the successful candidate). The salary is £27,000-£29,000 per annum pro rata.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Fundraising and Bid Writing
    • Research and write high-quality funding applications that reflect the Trust’s current priorities and the needs of our beneficiaries.
    • Identify new grant opportunities and maintain an up-to-date list of potential funders.
    • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely submission of all bids and supporting documents.
  2. Monitoring and Evaluation
    • Submit monitoring and evaluation reports to funders in line with their requirements.
    • Collect data and feedback from delivery teams to support strong reporting.
  3. Partnerships and Relationships
    • Maintain positive working relationships with funders, delivery partners, and referral partners.
    • Represent the Trust professionally in all external communications.
  4. General Support
    • Provide occasional cover for office or course administration as needed.
    • Support project or course sessions, when required.
    • Participate in training including First Aid, Health and Safety, and Fire Warden duties.
    • Maintain a clear and current DBS check.
    • Follow Trust policies on Health & Safety, Safeguarding, and GDPR.
  5. Other Duties
    • Carry out any other reasonable tasks in line with the nature of the role, as directed by your line manager.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Good attention to detail and time management
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Willingness to learn and take on training

Desirable:

  • Experience writing bids or working in a charity or community organisation
  • Familiarity with grant funders or community project delivery
  • Experience with monitoring/evaluation or basic data reporting
  • Confidence using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) for drafting or idea generation
