Job description

You will be someone that is happy to take a strategic oversight of fundraising activity as well as rolling up your sleeves and getting involved. The emphasis is likely to be on legacy marketing, major donor stewardship, digital fundraising, and event-based income generation.

Ideally you will have experience in strategic charity fundraising; however, our friendly team will also provide you with training and support to develop in your role.

This is a flexible home-based role with some attendance at meetings, including online meetings and events. We provide out-of-pocket travel expenses should this be required.

We want to encourage everyone to connect with the countryside and value and enjoy it. As our Fundraising Lead Volunteer, you will be able to make a significant and direct contribution to income generation for our charity.

Communicating and increasing awareness with our members and the wider public will help us to raise more funds to achieve our aims.

In this role, you will lead on our fundraising efforts, developing plans and designing new activities for generating income and will liaise with our wider team to support them with this too.

In this role, you will be utilising your interest and experience in fundraising to undertake a range of the following tasks, in collaboration with others.

What you will be doing
  • Implement our high-level fundraising strategy
  • Support the design of new initiatives e.g. donor stewardship, corporate sponsorship
  • Design and implement new ways of generating income alongside our various countryside activities and campaigns
  • Advise our teams on tactics and techniques for effective fundraising and put new ideas into practice.
  • Assist with and support effective communications to members, volunteers, and supporters around the importance of income generation to sustain the activity of CPRE long into the future
  • Liaise with the fundraising and income generation team at National CPRE
  • Reach out to colleagues in other Local CPREs across England to exchange ideas for mutual benefit
The skills you need
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices or willingness to learn
  • Previous experience of fundraising strategy and delivery
  • Comfortable carrying out tasks in close coordination with others and independently
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft applications, and readily available access to a computer and the internet at home
  • Be able to commit to volunteering regularly with occasional attendance at meetings, online and face to face
  • An interest in environmental issues and countryside campaigning
