Job summary

Trent Bridge Community Trust, the charitable arm of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, is seeking a Head of Fundraising to diversify income and secure multi-year funding. You will build partnerships, lead major events and manage grant applications to support community programmes across Nottinghamshire.

The role requires a proven fundraising track record, excellent bid-writing skills, and the ability to travel between sites. 35 hours weekly, with a start date of 1 November 2026.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Location: Trent Bridge, Nottingham Salary: £35,000 £40,000 per annum, plus bonus Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week Start date: 1st November 2026 Trent Bridge Community Trust is the charitable arm of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club. Since 2008, we've used the power of cricket to connect communities, improve wellbeing, and create life-changing opportunities across Nottinghamshire. Following our transition to charitable status, our new Fundraising Strategy (20272030) sets a bold target to diversify income, increase sustainability and expand our impact, especially for disadvantaged communities. This new and pivotal role is responsible for securing over £545,000 across three years, towards a wider £800,000 long term vision. You will build diverse, sustainable income streams that expand our programmes, increase participation among underrepresented groups, sustain health and wellbeing projects and strengthen our financial resilience.

Strategy And Leadership

• Lead delivery of the fundraising strategy and income action plan, setting and monitoring annual and quarterly income targets
• Develop and manage a rolling 1224 month fundraising pipeline, identifying new income opportunities aligned to Trust priorities
• Establish systems, processes and KPI dashboards to track performance

Income Generation

• Design and deliver tiered corporate partnership packages, working with the club's Commercial team to secure new business across the region
• Develop programme, event and apprenticeship sponsorship, and steward and grow existing partners (e.g. Tweezerman, Vertu, Russell Scanlan)
• Manage a grant pipeline calendar and write high-quality applications to local authorities, trusts, foundations and statutory funders, prioritising multi-year and unrestricted bids
• Develop a regular giving programme, manage digital fundraising campaigns (e.g. JustGiving), grow and segment the supporter database and introduce targeted community appeals
• Establish a Patron's programme targeting high net worth members
• Lead flagship events such as the Charity Zipwire, Golf Day and Charity Auction, develop new events, and maximise income through sponsorship and participation

Impact, Relationships And Reporting

• Align funding with volunteer growth, expansion into North Nottinghamshire, apprenticeships and employability pathways, and health and wellbeing programmes, translating outcomes into compelling funding cases
• Increase unrestricted income and multi-year funding agreements, support budget planning and forecasting, and contribute to the £300,000 reserves target
• Build strong relationships with funders, sponsors, donors and supporters through structured stewardship, and support impact reports and funder updates
• Track and report on KPIs including income against target, application success rates and donor and partner growth, with quarterly reports to the Trust Board
• Lead the development of a CRM/fundraising database, income tracking systems and processes, and maintain a funding risk register

Key Performance Indicators

• Minimum of £545,000 over three years (£154,000, £167,000 and £222,000), split 50% corporate sponsorship, 20% grants, 20% events and 10% individual giving
• Growth in corporate partnerships, individual donors and unrestricted income, and reduced dependency on NCCC and ECB funding

What We're Looking For

• 35 years' proven track record in fundraising and income generation
• Success securing funding from multiple streams: grants and trusts, corporate partnerships, events and individual giving
• Experience managing fundraising pipelines and targets, and developing strategic partnerships delivering measurable outcomes
• Exceptional bid writing and grant application skills, with a strong understanding of funding landscapes, compliance and best practice
• Excellent relationship management and networking skills, able to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders
• Strategic thinking with a strong delivery focus, strong budgeting, forecasting and reporting skills, and the ability to analyse data and drive performance
• Degree or equivalent in business, marketing or communications
• Passionate about community impact and increasing participation in sport, particularly among underrepresented groups
• Entrepreneurial, proactive, organised, resilient and collaborative
• Ability to travel independently between sites

Desirable

• Experience in the charity, sport or community sector
• Commercial awareness and knowledge of non-profit governance
• Introductory Certificate in Fundraising, CFRE or Chartered Institute of Fundraising training
