To provide practical fundraising and development support to help The Outcry Ensemble deepen relationships with existing supporters, grow its donor and membership base, and develop new sources of charitable income.
The role will initially focus on donor stewardship, correspondence, database management and membership
administration, while offering scope to become involved in grant applications, corporate partnerships,
fundraising events and longer-term development planning. For the right person, the role has significant
potential to grow alongside the organisation.
Key responsibilities
Support the Artistic Director with regular, thoughtful correspondence to existing major donors and
supporters, including drafting and coordinating emails, letters and updates.
Maintain accurate donor, prospect and membership records, ensuring follow-ups, pledges, preferences
and key interactions are recorded and actioned.
Manage the day-to-day administration of Outcry's membership and supporter schemes, including
renewals, acknowledgements and member communications.
Help identify opportunities to grow membership numbers and strengthen supporter engagement and
retention.
Research prospective individual donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners, and help maintain
a clear fundraising pipeline.
Support the preparation of grant applications, sponsorship approaches, funding proposals and reports to
funders.
Assist with the planning and delivery of donor cultivation and stewardship activity around concerts and
other events.
Attend selected Outcry concerts and events, welcoming and liaising confidently with donors, supporters
and prospective supporters.
Contribute ideas to the development of Outcry's fundraising strategy, systems and processes as the
organisation grows.
Undertake other reasonable fundraising and development tasks appropriate to a small, ambitious arts
charity.
Organised, personable and proactive. Enjoys building relationships and can combine excellent administration with strong written communication.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills, with a warm, professional & confident manner.
Some professional experience in development
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing contacts, correspondence & follow-up actions.
Confidence liaising with donors & prospective supporters both in writing & in person.
Ability to work independently, manage a small weekly workload efficiently & take initiative.
Good digital skills & confidence working with spreadsheets, contact databases/CRMs & shared online documents.
An understanding of donor confidentiality, discretion & appropriate data handling.
Experience of the arts, cultural or charity sectors highly desirable.
Experience of grant-writing desirable

The job is roughly 0.5 - 1 day per week on a flexible basis paid at £120 per half day (4 hours) and £240 per full day (8 hours).
