Job summary

Salisbury Foodbank is seeking a personable fundraiser-networker to help build relationships and generate vital support for the charity.

The role is 25 hours a week, pro rata from £32,000 FTE, focusing on local businesses, individuals and community groups to sustain the charity's essential work in Salisbury.

You'll attend local events, identify opportunities for support, and contribute to grant opportunities while fitting into a small team.

Yes, fundraising is part of the role. But we're not necessarily looking for a career fundraiser.

Someone who knows the people of Salisbury, who enjoys meeting people and has spent years building relationships. Someone who can walk into a room, start a conversation and spot an opportunity to bring people together.

You might come from sales, business development, professional services, account management, marketing or the local business community. You may have run your own business or reached a stage in your career where another full-time corporate role isn't particularly appealing. Or perhaps you're simply an exceptional networker who's built a fantastic local network through business, community groups and years of living and working in the area.

But 25 hours a week, using your experience and contacts to support one of Salisbury's most important local charities? That might be rather different.

What is the opportunity?

Your job is to help Salisbury Foodbank build relationships and generate the financial support it needs to continue its vital work.

You'll develop relationships with local businesses, individuals, supporters and community groups; attend networking events; open doors; create partnerships and identify new opportunities for support.

There will also be some involvement in funding opportunities and grant applications, alongside looking after existing supporters and making sure those relationships continue to grow.

Who are we looking for?

Above everything else, a people person.

Confident, credible, proactive and comfortable talking to people at every level.

Ideally, you'll already have a strong network across Salisbury and the surrounding area and understand how to turn a conversation into a meaningful, long-term relationship.

Previous fundraising experience would be useful, but it isn't the only route into this role. Commercial experience, business development, account management, professional services or simply years spent developing an exceptional local network could be equally valuable.

You'll also be organised, self-motivated and happy working within a small organisation where everyone occasionally mucks in.
