Job description
Overview

Are you passionate about enabling impactful research and enterprise? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your problem-solving skills and funding expertise can make a real difference?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the high-performing Funding Support Team within Leeds Beckett University’s Research & Enterprise Service. We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional to support the delivery of externally funded projects and programmes across the university.

About The Role

As a Funding Support Partner, you’ll play a key role in managing complex, high-value research and knowledge exchange projects. You’ll provide expert guidance across the full lifecycle of funding—from bid development and costing to post-award compliance and reporting. Your work will span a variety of funding streams including Innovate UK, NIHR, and specialist UK and EU programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the delivery and monitoring of externally funded projects, ensuring KPIs and outputs are met.
  • Supporting the mobilisation of new projects and programmes, including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs).
  • Advising academic and professional colleagues on funding criteria, compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Managing financial claims, forecasts, and audits with precision and professionalism.
  • Designing and delivering training and best practice initiatives to enhance funding support across the university.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in managing grant-funded projects and interpreting complex funding guidance.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to lead and motivate others.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.
  • Legal knowledge or experience, particularly in relation to contracts, compliance, or funding regulations, would be highly beneficial.

Experience in a higher education setting and familiarity with funders such as Innovate UK or NIHR will be advantageous.

Why Join Us

You’ll be part of a capable, friendly team that values learning, development, and shared success. We offer:

  • A generous annual leave entitlement of 38 days.
  • Flexible working arrangements across our two Leeds campuses and remote options.
  • Opportunities to attend national and international project meetings and networking events.
  • A supportive environment where your expertise will help shape the future of research and enterprise at Leeds Beckett.

Closing date 13th October 2025 (2359). Please note that you will not be able to edit or submit a part-completed application form after the closing date.

Working here means you’ll have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, flexible working, reduced study fees, subsidised fitness facilities and a lot more.

We welcome applications from all individuals and particularly from black and minority ethnic candidates as members of these groups are currently under-represented at this level of post. All appointments will be based on merit.
